According to a traffic advisory from our friends at PennDOT, anybody traveling Route 581 between Slate Hill Road and the York County Line should prepare for the trip to take a bit longer than usual:
Monday, July 21 from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., weather permitting: PennDOT Cumberland County maintenance crews are scheduled to spray patch sections of northbound and southbound US 15 between Slate Hill Road in Lower Allen Township and the Cumberland/York County Line in Upper Allen Township. Motorists are advised of shifting traffic and single-lane restrictions through the work zone. Some sections of US 15 average 26,000 vehicles traveled in each direction on a daily basis.
So either resign yourself to a brief trip in commuter hell, start your travel earlier than usual, or prep the iPod with some new new podcasts and enjoy the scenery.
