Zoning Ordinance Update Meeting Scheduled

Visitors to the LAT web site will have noticed that a special public meeting has been scheduled for Monday, August 18:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, August 18, 2008, commencing at 7:00 pm at the Lower Allen Township Municipal Services Center, 2233 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania 17011, in regards to the 2008 Lower Allen Township Zoning Ordinance.

For all interested parties - which should be everybody in LAT, but I digress - will have a chance to hear more about the zoning ordinance changes being proposed as another step in the process of executing the Comprehensive Plan executed in 2006.

The BOC has already held one meeting on this issue on June 30. The minutes of that meeting, as yet unapproved, are posted online if you want details.

The unapproved meeting minutes from the June 30 meeting on zoning ordinance updates contains the statement "Four audio tapes of this meeting are made part of the record". Will the minutes be approved in that form? If so, how would a party interested in this subject become informed about contents of those tapes?

Janey, I'm ignorant of the protocol. I assume an interested party would be able to review the tapes if they chose, as I believe they're part of the public record.

The best person to answer the question is Manager Vernau. If you'd like me to look into it, though, please let me know.
