I Am Your AI Trainer: Like a Fitness Coach, But for AI

I used to work with a trainer.
Jamel would meet me at the gym a few times a month. He’d run me through a workout, make sure I lifted with proper form, and give me instructions for the coming weeks.
But we didn’t jump right into a workout when we got started. Instead he asked about my goals, what I wanted to accomplish with exercise, and what I ate. Based on that, he tailored a workout plan which enabled me, through hard work, to become stronger and more fit.
Although we eventually parted ways, I knew I could not have reached my goals alone. I needed Jamel’s expertise and experience to show me the way.
That’s exactly how my AI Trainer service can work for you.
What It Isn’t
When you engage me as your AI Trainer, you will not become smarter than AI. It’s not possible to possess more knowledge than the technology trained on the collective corpus of human knowledge including its written works, videos, and podcasts.
Also, as your AI Trainer, I will not necessarily be smarter than you. Your lived experiences and your specific career skill sets are all unique to you.
And an AI Trainer possesses no magic tricks. You won’t get “Five Prompts to Rock Your Annual Evaluation” or “Six Simple Tools To Blow Away Your Competition.” Anyone purporting to sell you the equivalent of Jack’s Magic Beans isn’t worth your investment in time or money.
What It Is
Enlisting me as your AI Trainer will, simply put, enable you to do more with artificial intelligence. Not just more, though, you will be able to work more confidently and creatively with AI than you can alone.
You’ll unlock new creative possibilities. You will see how different tools can be combined and leveraged to craft better solutions. And you will see those outcomes improve and change over time as your skills advance.
We will start with your goals. We’ll discuss what you hope to do with AI and if you are using it today. We’ll walk through some common misconceptions about AI as well as typical mistakes.
And we’ll talk about where your head is at with AI since most American adults are not super jazzed about it at the moment.
Not Warmly Embraced
According to a recent Pew Research Center study, 50% of U.S. adults say they’re more concerned than excited about the increased use of AI in daily life. That is up from 37% in 2021, or a 35% increase in concern in four years.
In the same study, more than half of the respondents, or 57%, rated the societal risks of AI as high, compared with the one quarter of U.S. adults who think the benefits of AI are high.
And in another recent poll by Exploding Topics, researchers quantified a “4:1 negative-to-positive sentiment ratio.” In other words, four times more respondents thought negatively about AI than thought positively about it.
I think of AI like a tool. Like a hammer.
The only time I feel negatively about a hammer is when I drive a nail crookedly. But then it’s the outcome I achieved that’s to blame rather than the tool.
Discovering how you think about AI will be key for us to achieve successful outcomes just as I did recently for a friend.
Let’s Get Started
I have been using AI, both in my personal and work lives, for a couple of years now. Almost daily, I turn to it with either a question or a challenge I want to solve.
That work helps prepare me to train others on how to use ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and other tools. One of those people is Iris van Ooyen.
In a conversation, Iris mentioned how she used Claude for some creative work. After a brief conversation and a few messages we exchanged, Iris received a fresh, bespoke construct for her Claude Project.
Here’s how she described it:
“If you’re overwhelmed by the various AI options and not sure which tool would best serve your needs, you can trust Dan to help you out. First, Dan helped me get clear on how AI could support me with both repetitive tasks as well as saving so much time by no longer doing some things by hand. Then he helped me set up Claude in a way that was super easy and perfectly aligned with what I need and how I work.
Here’s what sets Dan apart: Knowing I don’t need to stay up-to-date with all the minute changes in AI tools—because Dan will do that for me—gives me great peace of mind and frees up time to do other things. I rest assured knowing that if there are changes in the AI tools I need to be aware of, Dan will proactively inform me of any consequences or updates I need to make.
I am so grateful for all the support I received from Dan. I would highly recommend his services! So glad you’re on my team, Dan!”
When we work together, I am certain I can do for you what I did for Iris.
Connect with me through the Services page, and let’s get started.
