Why I’m Scary Excited to Help You Master Your Personal Tech

Published by Dan on

I feel better when I meditate. It helps me focus and calms the squirrel brain that dominates much of the time.

But meditating is a thing that I don’t do at the same time every day. Sometimes I miss a day. When I miss one or a few days, I soon notice it.

Working meditation into my daily routine requires change. Even though I know that sitting calmly for 10 minutes and focusing on my breath while letting thoughts come and go like clouds on a summer day helps me be a better me, it’s a change I haven’t yet made part of my daily routine.

Because change is hard. We know it’s hard.

At any stage of life, to pick up and do something different involves shunting aside emotions like uncertainty and fear. Was what we were doing so very wrong? Does it make us less to admit we need or want to do something different?

Yet it’s only through change, through embracing the new while preserving the best of the present, that we grow. And growth in a concerted, coordinated direction can yield incredible benefits.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Here we go.

Physician, Heal Thyself

I’ve written here often about starting to use password managers, changing search habits, using multiple AI tools, and many other things I think you should do. But just because I write these articles doesn’t mean you will take those actions because they all involve change.

I write these posts because I am so eager to help you that I’m willing to put my time, energy, and reputation on the line to work with you on these projects. Everything I’ve written about I actually do because I think it is the smartest way to manage my personal technology.

Now I want to help you get the benefit of my experience by working with me to take your personal tech to the next level. So, as of today, I launched a services page with a few key offerings to help you manage your online safety and your personal tech stack, and to learn about AI from somebody you hopefully trust to teach you.

Scary Excited

To borrow a phrase from friend Iris van Ooyen, I’m “scary excited” about this next chapter.

What does that mean? I’ll let her tell you in her own words:

My personal definition of scary excited is when I’m about to do something and I’m really excited about it but also a tad scared or apprehensive. Hence: scary excited!

I have absolutely no idea if you will click through those calls to action on the services page to get started working with me. There’s no way for me to know if my gut sense that my customer service mindset and a patience honed from years of helping my octogenarian parents use their iPads can be applied to helping you master technology challenges which typically confound and enrage most people.

I know they can, but that’s not good enough. You have to know it too.

The Proof Is In The Doing

I’m working on adding testimonials to the new services page now. They’d help give you a sense, from another person’s perspective, what I can help you do.

Until those testimonials are ready to share, though, keep reading here. Connect with me on social media. Ask me questions.

And, if you’re curious to find out if I can actually do the things I claim I can, click the red button on the services page, and let’s talk about it.
